Corniche

Italian-Egyptian architect Pietro Avoscani designed the corniche in 1870, with the waterfront promenade running ten miles along the city’s Eastern Harbour, ending at the Montaza district. The corniche’s western side begins at the Citadel of Qaitbay, built in the place of the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
