Coral Reef at Key Biscayne

We didnt get to stay there. We made the booking and when we arrived at the property the reception was not open dispite it being the office hours. No one anwsered the telephone or the out of hours number. I was on hold with hotels.com whilst they tried and still no room or anwser. We ended up sleeping in the car. We have asked for a refund and hotels.com cant get the hotel to agree. Terrible place

I wish I could attach pictures! This place is crusty. Definitely a beach hotel. While the linens were clean and so was the kitchen, the closets, baseboards, backs of the doors, and anything that wasn’t a “high touch” area was visibly dirty & dusty. The toilet paper roll was stained and had hair stuck to it. The “pull out couch” wasn’t a pull out. There were holes in the wall behind the couch. The lamps weren’t plugged in behind the bed. The bed itself was like sleeping on a folding table. Then there’s the amenities. The pool was open but there was some kind of unsightly construction going on there. The elevator straight up didn’t work, and to make it worse, we had to figure that out ourselves because the reception desk didn’t even think to mention it. Didn’t love having to lug a massive suitcase up 3 flights of stairs. A few positives: The full kitchen works and has plenty of dishes and cooking/ eating utensils and tools. The room was pretty and well decorated despite how dirty it was. Great location private beach access is available (we didn’t have time to take advantage of this).

Great location and super friendly staff. However, there was a bucket in the hallway for a roof leak, some of the dishes were dirty, the fridge did not stay cold, the AC was noisy and some of the wall tiles in the bathroom were missing (the Sheetrock was smooth so it looked like the contractor simply ran out of tile and stopped). You pay for what you get. This place was a bargain.
