Sunset Royal Beach Resort - All Inclusive

I had a wonderful time at this hotel! The food was surprisingly delicious, the staff was very kind, and the beach was fantastic. However, the hotel could use some renovations. The swimming pool washrooms were in poor condition, and the rooms had a strong moisture smell. With some updates and better maintenance, this place could be truly amazing!

I would never stay at this property again. From January 6th to 11th, I booked Sunset Royal after an error with my reservation at LeBlanc, needing something nearby to stay close to family. Unfortunately, my experience was far below acceptable standards. The lobby was underwhelming, with one small bar, a basic pool view, and open doors 24/7, making the area uncomfortably warm. A musty smell permeated the air, and the ceilings were visibly dirty, suggesting poor maintenance. The check-in process was frustrating. Despite my confirmed reservation, the staff claimed they had not received my itinerary. On top of that, I was forced to pay a $10 USD nightly fee, not listed anywhere prior, before receiving my bracelet or room key. My room smelled strongly of mold and mildew, with stained bed linens and towels, and vents covered in dust and mold. After a few nights, I requested a room change, but the new room had the same issues. When I complained, staff sprayed the vents with fragrance rather than addressing the root problem. The food quality was abysmal, worse than fast food, with poorly cooked dishes and limited options. I became ill from the food, and when I requested a doctor, I was told it would cost $200 USD. The mold and food issues left me lethargic and unable to enjoy my vacation. Although I contacted Expedia, the hotel staff failed to address my concerns. This was one of the worst experiences in my travels. I strongly advise avoiding this property.

They assigned me a room in front of the pool and right next to 1 of the restaurants, during the day until 6pm there was extremely loud noise due to the activities at the pool, and late at night around midnight because of the people dinning at the restaurant. Also early in the morning (5-5am) I could hear the music from the restaurant that started serving breakfast. The room had a moldy smell, and the food lacked flavor, the drinks at the bar were not good either. The staff working at the kitchen preparing meals was very nice and the waiters were very friendly and nice. I would qualify this hotel as a 3 stars max.

Good resort for comfortable family beach vacation. Food choices could include more chicken and options for vegetarians. Alcoholic drinks need more punch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Room was great.

First off the beach is great... but the property needs a lot of work. The food and beverage part of the hotel needs to scrap everything and start over. The Italian restaurant lunches served the most mediocre cuts of meat and pork. The burger was a flat paddy and I'm not sure what it was made out of. Service is bad outside the hotel on the patio by the pool and on the beach, I waited for an hour for drinks at the pool even though the pool was barely occupied. It's better to just go get the drinks instead of waiting. All of the rooms are surrounding the Italian restaurant, this means that when they are prepping for the days meals they are clanging pans, silverware, smallware's, etc. early in the morning and waking up guests. They play music loud enough throughout the day, which means early morning for breakfast and they quit around 11pm, if you want to sleep do not try that on the first few floors of this hotel. It is a terrible spot for a restaurant. They cater more to "members" and all-inclusive is not really all-inclusive here. And the bars are an afterthought... Like they don't want it to be a focal point of this hotel, so do not go here if you like real functional bars. My room was nice, big and most of the utilities worked... But the hand-held shower faucets (3 each) didn't work in either shower (2 each). The kitchen had cockroaches (I have pictures) and the room had some "jumpy bugs" that I had to keep squashing, the bed was comfortable, lights all worked fine.

Very nice employees, rooms are big and clean. Italian restaurant is amazing.
