Hate to be writing this review, but one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we've ever had
- The check-in process is illogical - they claim the check-in time starts at 2:30 but the front desk stops is not staffed from 2 to 4, and there's a potential charge if you check in after 5:30. This means you have a 90 min window (4-5:30) to check in. Our ferry ran a little late, so we arrived around 2:30 and had to wait around until 3:30 to check in after making multiple calls to the owner.
- They do not honor the VIP amenity of free continental breakfast. They claim that they did not agree to this with Expedia and say that you would need to contact Expedia after paying for breakfast to see if you could get compensated.
- The lady running the front desk/restaurant is just unpleasant to interact with. Aside from the breakfast issue, we asked if we could get a cup of rice because I dropped my phone in the ocean (yes I know, stupid). She was needlessly rude/judgmental and charged $5 for the courtesy of some rice.
- The parking is limited and frustrating; we got double parked in on multiple occasions.
We had an amazing time in French Polynesia and were treated to great hospitality; this experience left a real sour note
Great staff and lovely location.
The property was amazing. Loved it.
We loved the partial over the water bungalow. We were fascinated by the fish, turtles and sharks that were visible from the deck especially at night with a spotlight on.
The salt water pool was pristine in cleanliness and guests usually remained quiet.
We could snorkel from provided ladders on the property. Some fish were seen but highly recommend taking a lagoon tour.
Food served in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced for the region.
We especially want to praise the owners and their daughter for the exceptional attention and care they heaped upon us.
The bungalow interior was sparce and a little outdated but clean. Mattress was very firm. An overhead fan and island breezes was plenty to keep us comfortable in the heat and humidity.
We will definitely stay here again if we have the gift of returning.
The fact that it’s close to the port departure (free transfer from and to the aéroport navettes) when you know most transfer cost between 20 to 30 dollars each. The shopping area as well as the super market to get your quality food and wine and others are 4 minutes by car, u can even walk there 😊. Heivai who runs the place seem to be on point with everything. Very sharp and kind , accommodating woman.
Beautiful spot with well maintained grounds (numerous gorgeous plants), however buildings are starting to show their age. A bit disappointed that an air conditioner is present but told it hasn’t worked in years and the ceiling fan did minimal to move the air around, so room was excessively hot (especially on first night when it had been closed up all day). Otherwise, the location is ideal, the staff is friendly, approachable, and helpful, and the atmosphere is divine. Also, it would be nice to have a clothes line in the bathroom or balcony (or at least clothespin) to hang things to dry (there is often too much wind to leave things just hanging on the balcony rail or on chairs, and things blow out into the sea).
