A nice western style bed & breakfast ~5 minutes walk from Sokodo Beach.
It is a little bit outdated and pricey for what you get, but it was convenient to the beach and the owner was very kind and enjoyable to work with. We recommend this place to a solo traveler or a young couple who prefer to stay on a budget.

The manager Taro was excellent and his English was a great help to us, the room was good and the food great. Close to the harbour and swimming area.
The island has some spectacular views but you need to hire a car.

I rent a car so, the location of the lodge doesn't matter. I planned to go another island so booked only for 1 day, but due to the weather/sea situation, I needed to stay in Hachijojima one more day. In the same lodge, there wasn't any vacancy but the staff helped a lot to find another place. Thank you! Not everyone but some staffs could communicate within English so it was also very helpful.
