Lovely location, amazing friendly and genuine staff - they are a huge asset to the resort!!
Resort is dated, but clean, which we knew ahead of time, and is reflected in the price compared to other resorts. Breakfast is quite generous considering its complimentary. Great pool & snorkeling at high tide.
The beachfront rooms appear to have wonderful views, lovely gardens throughout the property. Frangipani bure spacious for families. Good value for money with lovely staff and great location on the beach
The Hideaway is a hidden gem! We stayed at both beach front bure#49(mini villa) and the beach front villa#303 during our recent stay. The resort is in a seed area, well kept, you are greeted upon arrival w/ a welcome punch and a drum roll, staff are very welcoming and warm. It does provide shuttle service to and from airport with a surcharge. They offer laundry service w/a fee, cook to order breakfast with a fee along w/continental spread, lunch, dinner, and bar service. They have resort activities and performance and served toasted coconut sampler at 2:30pm everyday and have a waterslide for adults and kids. Rooms are very basics and outdated. However, the breathless view of the pacific water hitting the seawall is priceless/compensates for the outdated decor. You literally can swim in the ocean less than 20ft away from your front door. Other resorts claim beach front, but what they don't tell you is you may have to walk 10-15 mins to get to the beach. They have daily housekeeping and 3 restaurants that serves decent food. They also have daily menu to choose from. They have an ice cream parlor which opens daily. All staff in the Hideaway are amazing, but special shout outs to Vole,Sweeny,Solome,Silo, Hilary, Etta, Arietta S.,Frances,Dan,Mare Wai. If you are a pet lover, beware! The resort banned guests from feeding the strays which they are also the sweetest cats and dogs around. Just like any tropical places, expect lizards, frogs, mosquitos, roaches, and other bugs.
Family holiday with grandchildren in an adjoining beachfront villa. Loved our spacious and quiet villa and the water views. The staff were warm and welcoming. Reef shoes a must for when the tide goes out. The children’s activities were very light on and I think older children would be looking for more. Lovely pool area and trivia during happy hour was fun. Resort needs to emphasis the dangerous swimming are at the reef opening. Lacking in emergency equipment and training. Did the school tour and village tour. Affordable at $10 each and we were happy to leave a donation at the school and village.

Tired property and facilities, staff were nice but undertrained and there wasn’t enough of them. Meal options were lacklustre and drinks extremely overpriced, the buffet breakfast ran out of plates and cutlery by 8am and patrons had to wait for a load of dishwashing to be done. 2 bedroom bungalow was ok albeit the water pressure was terrible. Pool and concrete slide are a hazard, no pool towels available the day we checked. Way overpriced for what you get and it felt like the owner is not interested in investing back into the property or staff. Great location and potential unfortunately being wasted on a neglected property.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Fiji Hideaway.
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the resort grounds are stunning.
The room was very comfortable and well looked after by housekeeping. The taps in our bathroom were a bit loose on the table, but still useable and not something we were bothered by.
The food was mostly pretty good, however the Japanese restaurant was closed during our stay and would have been a nice change if it was open.
Otherwise we were pleasantly surprised by the pricing and found everything to be reasonable, with good portions.
The snorkelling out the front of the resort was a real highlight for us, with crystal clear waters that were very easy to swim through.
The Hotel staff organise full day itineraries through the activities hut, that include a wide range for all to enjoy. We really liked how many options there were, and the cultural performances were a real highlight, and nice change to what we had seen at other resorts.
Keep in mind this resort is based on the Coral Coast, so getting to and from some activities / the Airport does take about 60-90 minutes, but very easy to organise transport through the Hotel or Tour Managers group.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back or recommend this to our friends.
Bula!
Thank you to everyone at the Fiji hideaway resort and spa.
This was the first time my family and I had visited and we had an absolutely delightful time.
The staff were fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and consistently smiling and willing to help out.
The food, especially the tandoori chicken, was such a highlight.
In terms of the room, the room was lovely. We had the family room which managed to sleep my mom, dad, my 9 year old niece and myself.
The only room for improvement was the bathroom. Nothing major but just in need of a little TLC.
I would hugely suggest taking the local bus right outside the resort to the capital city of Suva. It costs only FD $10 per person.
Already have a heavy heart typing this on our plane trip back to Auckland. Thoroughly enjoyed Fiji’s south west and south east coast.
Highly recommended.
