With the abundance of short-term rentals in Florence customer service and maintenance should be a top priority. Unfortunately, our experience with this particular house was disappointing.
First, we faced difficulties in obtaining the keys. We initially received a message from Soroush, who was supposed to bring the keys, but he informed us he was busy and referred us to Julia. Unfortunately, she was also unavailable, and we were then referred to Vladimir. Each time, we had to repeat our arrival details and other questions, which was challenging due to our spotty internet connection while traveling internationally.
When Vladimir finally met us and opened the door, we discovered that the advertisement for the apartment failed to mention that it was on the sixth floor of a building without an elevator. Additionally, the air conditioner was not functioning. We tried to contact the emergency number provided by the unfriendly Vladimir, sent messages to him, and reached out to the numbers listed in the booklet found in the house. The responses we received indicated either that they did not manage the property or promises to send a repairperson, which never materialized. During our three-day stay, we were unable to get even one proper night’s sleep due to the heat, and we couldn’t open the windows because of mosquitoes.
We had planned to cook a meal during our stay; however, the refrigerator was mini-sized and froze everything, including my medications.
The bathroom was moldy.
We loved the location of our apartment in walking distance to the train station, shopping, great restaurants...and more importantly, stuctures of historical importance. It was also outfitted with everything you need, especially for a long stay. We were ok with the fact it was on the fourth floor, without an elevator, but in retrospect the narrow, circular staircase to the loft bedroom wasn't the best choice for my husband who has hip problems. But we still appreciated our accommodations!
The location of the apartment is good, very close to the train station and the bus station. The apartment is fine. It was a pity that the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. If we opened the windows, we were swarmed by mosquitoes. It took them three days to fix it, and although they brought us two more fans, since temperatures in Florence reached 40ºC, our stay was not pleasant during those three first days.
While location and the place in general were great, we stayed in summer and picked this place based on the description that it had air conditioning. The place has two small air conditioners that are not even enough to cool a 100 square feet room, so the place is an oven day and night. If you try to open the windows at night be ready to be bit by mosquitoes. The worst part is that the property manager is unable or unwilling to help.
