Royal Jordanian Airlines Baggage Allowance

Checked Baggage

The following entails are based on the piece concept on all RJ destinations.

From/To Cairo 

• Infants Fare allows you to carry one piece with a maximum weight of 10 kg with maximum measurements of 115cm/45 inches. Passengers traveling with infants may carry a fully-collapsible child stroller/push-chair or infant car seat, Passengers are allowed to carry an infant car seat or stroller to the cabin according to space availability.

From/To Europe

• Checked baggage allowance for London in Economy class is 1 Piece and up to 30 kg.
• Infants Fare allows you to carry one piece with a maximum weight of 10 kg with maximum measurements of 115cm/45 inches. Passengers traveling with infants may carry a fully-collapsible child stroller/push-chair or infant car seat. Passengers are allowed to carry an infant car seat or stroller to the cabin according to space availability.
• Passengers on flights from Amman - Istanbul/ Istanbul - Amman are allowed to carry two pieces each one up to 23KG.

From Canada: 

 

• Passengers would have to pay 335 CAD for each additional bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg and 158 cm/62 inches.
• Travelling with an infant will get a free baggage allowance with a limitation of one piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 23kgs and 115 cm/45 inches.

From/ to North America:

• In the Economy Class cabin, there is a free baggage allowance for Adults or Children with a limitation of two pieces of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 23kgs and 158 cm/62 inches for the bag dimensions.
• Passengers would have to pay 250 USD/335 CAD for each additional bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg and 158 cm/62 inches for the bag dimensions.
• Free baggage allowance for Infants with one piece of checked baggage with 23 kg and 115 cm/45 inches for the bag dimensions.

 To all other destinations:

• Infants Fare allows you to carry one piece with a maximum weight of 10 kg with maximum measurements of 115cm/45 inches. Passengers traveling with infants may carry a fully-collapsible child stroller/push-chair or infant car seat. Passengers can carry an infant car seat or stroller to the cabin according to space availability.

Excess Baggage

Passengers with checked baggage exceeding the allowance stated will be subject to excess baggage fees and the additional piece should not exceed 23 KG for both Crown & Economy classes.

*Excess baggage rates are applicable to change according to currency exchange rates and airport fees and service charges. Please check the full list of Excess Baggage Charges.

• Excess Baggage Charges from/to London 130 GBP for an additional bag. In case luggage weight exceeds 23 to 32 KG; an additional 50 GBP will be added. 
• Excess Baggage Charges for the United States/Canada flights are 250 USD for an additional bag. In case luggage weight exceeds 23 to 32 KG; an additional 100 USD will be added to the original extra bag price which is 250USD.
• Excess Baggage Charges for the Beirut flights are 75$ for an additional bag. In case luggage weight exceeds 23 to 32 KG; an additional 50 USD will be added.

Royal Jordanian Airlines Special Baggage:

Passengers traveling on Royal Jordanian Airlines should check some conditions regarding sports equipment and musical instruments.

Sports equipment

• One set of snow water ski equipment may be included in the free checked Baggage Allowance, If it exceeds the limitation, it shall be charged with 33% of the applicable excess luggage charges.
• One Golf bag includes golf balls and a pair of golf shoes may be included in the free checked baggage allowance. If it exceeds the limitation, it shall be charged with 50% of the applicable excess baggage charges.
• One item of bowling equipment including one bowling ball, one bowling bag, and one pair of bowling shoes of 158cm size may be included in the free Checked Baggage Allowance. If it exceeds the limitation, it shall be charged.
• One non-motorized/racing single-seat bicycle may be included in the free Checked Baggage Allowance. If it exceeds the limit, excess baggage charges shall apply.
• One item of scuba diving equipment may be included in the free checked Baggage. One piece of luggage with outside linear dimensions (158cm) will be subjected to excess charges whether or not presented as a single piece.
• One item of scuba diving equipment is defined as one empty scuba tank, one scuba regulator, one tank harness, one mask, two fins, one snorkel, and one safety vest.
• One item of fishing equipment that contains not more than one landing net, one pair of fishing boots, two rods, one reel, and one fishing tackle box will be calculated as one piece at 158cm. Additional charges will be added for a single piece whether or not presented as a single piece.

Musical instruments

• Small musical instruments may be carried on board if it meets the carry-on size requirements and fit in the overhead cabin or under the seat. The case dimensions shall not exceed  115 cms/45 inches, except for guitars in which the passenger may bring them if they can be seated safely in the overhead cabin.
• The musical instrument is considered as one allowed carry-on bag. A personal item is allowed in addition to the instrument.
• An additional seat may be purchased if the musical instrument is too big to fit in the carry-on baggage space. Therefore, the instrument must travel in a window, bulkhead seat, with the passenger in the adjoining seat.
• RJ is not liable for any damage to checked musical instruments of fragile nature if not presented in a hard-sided case.

Additional Input: Royal Jordanian Airlines will no longer accept a single piece of baggage exceeding the limit of any piece of checked baggage above 32 kg except for special baggage that it is notified at the time of booking.
