Philippine Airlines Baggage Allowance

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is the flag carrier of the Philippines, and the first and oldest commercial airline in Asia operating under its original name, which was founded in 1941.

The headquarters of this airline is at the PNB Financial Center in Pasay City.

Philippine Airlines serves 31 destinations in the Philippines and 54 overseas destinations in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Middle East, North America and Europe.

The airline hubs are at Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila, Clark International Airport of Angeles, Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu, and Francisco Bangoy International Airport of Davao.

Baggage Allowance Definition

Free Baggage Allowance refers to the size, number of baggage and weight requirements you can check-in and hand carried baggage you can bring into the cabin free of charge.

 

Check-in Baggage

  • A single piece of checked baggage should weigh no more than 32kgs.

 

Domestic Routes allowances

  • Economy Class has several fares:

  • Passengers travelling on Economy Supersaver are not allowed to carry checked baggage

  • Passengers travelling on Economy Saver are permitted to carry 1 checked baggage of 10kgs max in weight.

  • Passengers travelling on Economy Value/Economy Flex are allowed to carry 1 piece of hold luggage of 20kgs max in weight.

  • Passengers travelling on Premium Economy are entitled to carry a 25kgs checked-in luggage.

 

Business Class has two fares:

  • Business Value passengers are permitted to hold 1 checked-in luggage of 30kgs in weight.

  • Business Flex travellers are allowed to travel with only 1 check-in baggage of 35kgs in weight.

 

International Routes allowances

For Asia

  • Economy Class passengers are allowed to hold 1 piece of checked-in luggage of 25kgs max in weight, while passengers travelling on Premium Economy are allowed to carry a 30kgs baggage.

  • Business Class passengers are entitled to hold a 35kgs luggage.

 

For Middle East 

  • Passengers travelling on Economy Class have the right to carry 2 pieces of luggage of 23kgs per bag, while Premium Economy passengers are allowed to have 2 pieces of baggage of 25kgs in weight per piece.

Cabin Baggage

  • It is the type of valuable luggage for which the passenger book a special seat, such as sports equipment, musical instruments, etc.

  • The items must meet the following criteria:

  • Its weight should not exceed 75kgs.

  • Each seat must carry one item.

  • The item must be packed in a proper way.

 

Carry-on Baggage

  • Passengers are allowed to hold only one small carry-on bag of 7kgs in weight that can be fitted in the overhead bin or under the plane seat with a maximum dimension of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm.

  • They are also permitted to carry on-board two any of the next items:

  • A small handbag

  • A pocketbook or purse

  • A small camera 

  • A laptop with case

Special Luggage 

  • There is an applicable charge on oversized baggage.

  • Special items can be represented in the following:

  • Batteries and flammable Liquids.

  • Bulky / Fragile Baggage, for example, bicycles, strollers, sleeping bags and musical instruments.

  • Medications and medical oxygen.

  • Sports Equipment.

  • Guns and ammunition.

  • An infant without seat paying at least 10% or more of applicable adult fare has the following free baggage allowance:

  • Lighters and matches.

  • Magnetized materials.
