Alexandria National Museum

This beautiful museum is a history buff’s dream, home to artefacts from four main eras in Egypt’s history, namely Ancient, Graeco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic. You’ll also find an impressive collection of royal jewels and antique coins here. Situated close to the heart of the city, you’ll need a camera permit – available at the door – if you plan on taking photographs.

Fun fact

The museum showcases Alexandria’s history across three floors in the now renovated Al-Saad Bassili Pasha Palace.
